The Ministry of Transport has reduced the interval between East Nile Monorail trains from 12 minutes to nine minutes.
The decision was issued by Minister of Transport Kamel El Wazir during an inspection of the line ahead of the new school year, with the ministry reviewing operations, station readiness and passenger services.
The ministry also directed operators to introduce student subscriptions for both the East Nile Monorail and the light rail at a 60% discount on ticket prices, beginning Wednesday.
