New Dubai Bridge Opens Ahead of Oud Metha Road Project Completion

A new three-lane bridge linking Al Khail Road to Al Asayel Street via Al Wasl Club Street has opened in Dubai as part of the Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) ongoing Oud Metha and Al Asayel Streets Development Project.

The bridge accommodates up to 3,600 vehicles per hour and serves motorists travelling from Al Khail Road towards Al Asayel Street. According to the RTA, the wider project is now 90% complete and is expected to reduce journey times along the corridor from 20 minutes to five once all phases are finished.

Further infrastructure is set to open by the end of August, including two tunnels and an additional bridge. One tunnel will connect the service road on Oud Metha Street to the Sheikh Rashid Road intersection for traffic heading towards Bur Dubai, while the second will serve motorists travelling from Dubai–Al Ain Road to Al Wasl Club Street. A new bridge will also improve left-turn access from Al Asayel Street to Oud Metha Street.
