Saudi Arabia Leads Global Date Exports for Fourth Consecutive Year
Saudi date exports reached SAR 1.938 billion in 2025, rising 14.3% year-on-year and 59.5% compared with 2021.
Saudi Arabia ranked first globally in date exports by value for the fourth consecutive year in 2025, with exports reaching SAR 1.938 billion, according to International Trade Centre data cited by the National Center for Palms and Dates. The figure represented a 14.3% increase from 2024 and a 59.5% rise compared with 2021.
Saudi dates are now exported to more than 125 countries, while annual production exceeds 1.9 million tonnes from more than 37 million palm trees. National Center for Palms and Dates CEO Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mousa said cooperation between government bodies and the private sector had supported supply-chain development, export efficiency and wider access to international markets.
The centre said it has introduced programmes aimed at strengthening the sector’s value chain, improving quality standards and increasing the competitiveness of Saudi dates abroad. The measures form part of wider efforts to expand agricultural exports and increase the sector’s contribution to non-oil economic activity.
