Saudi Gamers Report 89% Less Lag in Popular Games

Gaming latency in Saudi Arabia has improved by 89%, according to the fifth edition of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission’s ‘Saudi Internet’ report.

Several popular games recorded particularly low response times, including Teamfight Tactics and League of Legends at 11 milliseconds, and Mobile Legends at 12 milliseconds. The figures form part of the report’s wider assessment of internet performance and usage patterns across the Kingdom.

Smart devices accounted for the largest share of gaming platform usage at 22.1%, followed closely by PlayStation at 21.8%. Weekly gaming was the most common frequency at 32.1%, while 31% of respondents played at intermittent intervals and 29.2% played daily.

The report also recorded 13.85 million Internet of Things subscriptions. Urban population coverage using Narrowband Internet of Things technology reached approximately 99%, supported by more than 30,000 towers, while household IoT adoption stood at 18%.

These indicators point to growing capacity across Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure for gaming, connected devices and other applications dependent on reliable low-latency networks.

The report also noted that Saudi Arabia ranked first globally in the International Telecommunication Union’s 2025 Digital Readiness Index.
