Toy Story 5 Becomes Disney’s First Film Dubbed in Saudi Arabic

Toy Story 5 has become the first film from The Walt Disney Company to receive a Saudi Arabic dub, with the new version beginning exclusively on Disney+ on October 6th. The milestone was announced at a Disney+ event in Riyadh, where the Saudi voice cast and other upcoming programming for the region were unveiled.

The cast includes Ibraheem Khairallah as Buzz Lightyear, Sohaib Qudus as Woody, Reem Alhabib as Jessie, Malik Nejer as Smarty Pants and Aseel Seraj as Lilypad. Yaser Al Saqaf voices Atlas, Aseel Morya plays Snappy, Mohammad Al Qass voices Mr. Prickle Pants, Abdullah Rafeaa plays Forky, Shahad Al Ahmari voices Bo Peep, Rahaf Al Zaidi plays Trixie and Fares Al Yahya voices Duckie. Disney+ said the adaptation was developed with particular attention to Saudi language, humour and cultural context while retaining the character of the original film.

The Riyadh event also previewed upcoming international releases for regional subscribers, including the second seasons of Turkish drama Halef and Korean series Made in Korea, The Remarried Empress from November 4th, Disney’s live-action Moana, Season 23 of Grey’s Anatomy and Marvel Television’s VisionQuest.

Disney+ also began rolling out an updated app across the Middle East and North Africa on October 6th. New features include increasingly personalised recommendations, enhanced parental controls and Junior Mode, alongside expanded access for customers travelling across the Middle East, Europe, the United States and other supported markets.
