UAE Adds Six Nationalities to Visa on Arrival
Travellers can obtain a 14 day or 60 day visa on arrival. The 14 day visa may be extended once while in the UAE. Fees are AED 100 and AED 250. Overstay fines are AED 50 per day.
The UAE has expanded its visa on arrival programme to nationals of Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Kenya, and South Africa, including accompanying family members. Eligible travellers holding ordinary passports may obtain either a 14-day or 60-day visa on arrival, provided they hold a valid residence permit issued by the United States, a European Union member state, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, New Zealand, or Canada.
According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, the 14-day visa costs AED 100 and may be extended once while the holder is in the UAE. The 60-day visa costs AED 250, is valid for a single stay, and cannot be extended. Travellers must leave the country before either visa expires, with overstays subject to a fine of AED 50 per day.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it will continue coordinating with relevant national authorities to facilitate travel and further streamline consular procedures.
