UAE to Host Major Ice Hockey Championship in 2026

The UAE will host the 2026 Ice Hockey World Championship Division II, Group A, with games set to take place in April, 2026.

The announcement was made during the International Ice Hockey Federation’s annual General Assembly in Stockholm, where the UAE’s bid received majority support from participating nations. The proposal, led by the UAE Winter Sports Federation, emphasised the country’s modern facilities and event management capabilities.

This comes after the UAE men’s national team won gold in the 2023 Division II-B championship in Türkiye, as the country continues to expand its involvement in winter sports.
