Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi Named World’s Best Theme Park
The Yas Island attraction became the first Middle Eastern theme park to win the Liseberg Applause Award.
Warner Bros. World Yas Island Abu Dhabi has been named the world’s best theme park after receiving the 2026 Liseberg Applause Award, becoming the first attraction in the Middle East to win the international honour. The award was presented during the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Honors event, where the Yas Island destination was recognised for excellence in operations, management and creative design.
Presented every two years by Sweden’s Liseberg theme park in Gothenburg, the Liseberg Applause Award is considered one of the amusement industry’s highest honours and is often referred to as the “Academy Award” of the global theme park sector.
Since the award launched in 1980, only 22 theme parks worldwide have received the recognition, with a single winner selected during each award cycle. Previous recipients include Universal Studios Japan, Tokyo DisneySea, Siam Park in Spain and Xcaret Park in Mexico.
Located on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi is the largest indoor theme park in the Middle East. The attraction features six themed lands inspired by Warner Bros. franchises including DC superheroes and Looney Tunes, alongside rides, live entertainment and immersive themed experiences.
The park is owned and operated by Abu Dhabi-based developer Miral, which also oversees Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and SeaWorld Abu Dhabi.
