Beirut’s Grand Factory Launches 'Friday Night Live' Alt-Music Series

Located in the heart of Beirut’s industrial area, The Grand Factory has been a haven for local and regional artists and DJs since 2014, rightfully establishing its place on the international clubbing map through stellar bookings and a gorgeous venue.

In 2020, the venue was tragically destroyed in the Beirut explosion, with the venue recently reopening after the renovations. The newly transformed venue celebrated its reopening last month, and since then, The Grand Factory has been doubling down efforts to reinvigorate Lebanon’s music scene.

While the iconic venue has played a significant role in bringing Lebanon’s clubbing scene to international attention, The Grand Factory’s alternative music focus will expand to include artist books beyond dance music. Over the years, Beirut has been home to dozens of alternative and indie musicians with highlights arriving in the early 2010s, with artists such as Mashrou’ Laila, Who Killed Bruce Lee, Fadi Tabbal, Adonis, and more lending their insightful voices to the region. In the time since, Beirut has seen an outpouring of indie and alternative artists, including Postcards, Bedouin Burger, Charbel Haber, Blu Fiefer, Kid Fourteen, Youmna Saba, and the list goes on.

To support the local alternative music scene, The Grand Factory announced that they are launching a new event series under the ‘Friday Night Live’ series. Taking place every Friday, The Grand Factory will open its revamped doors to music lovers in Beirut to witness their favourite artists performing on the venue’s dazzling new stage.

The inaugural edition of the event will feature performances from the classic rock act Kraken Clench and Lebanese band Sundowner. The event will take place on January 27th at 9 PM head to The Grand Factory’s Instagram page for more info.
