Director Mazen Bayoumy joins us on this episode of Ferkesh to talk about creating a bright and colorful world for Egyptian artist Nour’s ‘Wana’.

Bayoumy talks about the importance of leaving space in a storyboard for any impromptu shots that may occur during filming. In his workflow, he accounts for these moments, and likes to take a step back, and attempts to capture sincere moments on the spot.

Bayoumy also speaks on the relationship between an artist and a director, and how it is crucial to establish openness and trust in order for the vision of the two parties to align.
