Lella Fedda Makes Comeback With Reflective R&B Single ‘25’
“The track is about escaping traps formed by the opinions of others, overturning tables, and stopping vicious cycles, yet still reminiscing on their memories.”
Following over a six-month hiatus from making music, Egyptian rap superstar Lella Fadda returns with a stripped-back, introspective single, ‘25’.
Composed by Adam Lenox, Sadek Massaraweh and Tilman Ruetz, and mixed and mastered by Nader Soliman, the track’s production is minimal yet finely detailed. Its tasteful slow-burning R&B palette is anchored by velvety funk- and soul-leaning basslines, sparse drum patterns, and meditative grooves that leave plenty of room for reflection. Lella’s vocal delivery is intimate, echoing the similar vibe of her earliest emotive releases before her debut album, 'MAGNUN', fluidly shifting between conversational spoken words and smooth rap flows.
Lyrically, ‘25’ unpacks disillusionment with a love that never fully met her halfway. Lella revisits tender memories while confronting the cost of staying trapped in a familiar, toxic cycle, ultimately choosing self-preservation over nostalgia. The track reads like a quiet confrontation, less explosive than euphoric, but no less decisive and self-aware.
“The track is about escaping traps formed by the opinions of others, overturning tables, and stopping vicious cycles, yet still reminiscing on their memories,” Lella Fadda says.
The track is accompanied by minimal visuals shot in Alexandria, a city that was a huge part of Lella’s childhood, reflecting the song's reflective nature and the theme of needing to escape at its centre.
Following the bold statement of 'MAGNUN' with its forward-thinking productions, ‘25’ sees Lella in a more reflective, minimalist register, paring things back, and perhaps even hinting at a new direction and a ‘less is more’ sonic identity.
