Memphis Records To Launch ‘Tidal Dream’ Its First Live Music Festival
Cairo’s Motown-inspired Memphis Records to launch its original live music festival March 10th.
Cairo-based Memphis Records is debuting its first-ever live music festival on March 10th, in its effort to become Egypt’s “house of soul, funk, and psychedelia.” Since launching in April 2020 as an A&R-focused label, Memphis Records has been representing indie artists and musicians from all corners of Cairo, bringing Egypt’s hidden musical talents into the spotlight.
As a collective that champions live music, Memphis Records has been dedicating efforts to creating a safe space for people to engage with its rich curation of rock, indie, blues and jazz music. This March 10th, the collective will launch its debut ‘Tidal Dream’ festival, packed with an exciting lineup of artists ready to fire up the stage with their eclectic sounds.
From noon to midnight, this first iteration of ‘Tidal Dreams’ festival aims to showcase a wide array of homegrown artists to perform. The stellar lineup features rock fan favourites like Woodpeckers, Pink Seasalt, Butternotes, Marmalade Jam, and Alan-k –the latter who performed in last week’s Funk N’ Pop. Meanwhile, local indie rock rouser Dirty Backseat is also set to perform - just last week, he released his new album ‘Aftermath’, which continues to push forward his instantly recognisable synth and indie rock sound.
The festival offers a selection that touches upon various corners of the alternative spectrum, letting you experience Motown in the heart of Cairo by fusing rock, blues, and indie tunes in one lineup that will leave you wanting more. Tidal Dreams is put on in collaboration with Good Vibes Only and White, tickets are available to purchase through the link in their bio.
