Sama’ Abdulhadi to Curate 'fabric presents' Club Compilation
As a former regular of fabric London, Abdulhadi returns a few years later, this time helming the deck with her own compilation.
Palestinian electronic DJ and producer Sama’ Abdulhadi is set to perform in the latest ‘fabric presents’ club compilation at the legendary London-based venue and label, fabric London. Abdulhadi’s collaboration with the project promises a unique blend of intercontinental techno, psytrance and hip hop, and will be released on double vinyl, CD and digital download on November 24th.
For Abdulhadi, fabric holds a special place in her heart. “It was my first real nightclub! When I lived in London in my early years of being into electronic music, I went for every d&b night, every techno night; and who can forget those crazy Sundays?” Abdulhadi tells SceneNoise. “It was such an honour to finally play there!”
Abdulhadi’s rise in the electronic music world began with her involvement in the Beirut club scene, which quickly became her testing ground, and enabled her to expand her repertoire. Her Boiler Room Ramallah set, which garnered around 12 million views, demonstrated her ability to stand out from a pool of internationally renowned artists.
Today, Abdulhadi has become a household name for techno/house heads, performing on stages around the world such as Coachella, Glastonbury and more. Her commitment to promoting emerging artists in the SWANA region led to the creation of multiple platforms such as Union and Resilience, which are dedicated to promoting and elevating creatives and their voices.
Abdulhadi’s track compilation reflects her wide-ranging and eclectic music taste, assembling global artists regardless of their status. “I included artists whose work speak to me and get me out of bed any day, any time,” Abdulhadi says. Her compilation ranges from her own personal influences, such as German techno producer Carbon, Acid Arab, and Brazilian DJ Lutgens as well as close friends like Walaa Sbait, and her own mentees and protegées like Yazan Saleh, whom she is particularly proud of.
