Sydro Drops Dark Techno EP ‘Synaptic Overload’ on UAE’s KitchenSync
The three-track EP explores the tension between innate human nature and the ever-encroaching influence of technology.
Dubai-based Indian producer and DJ Sydro navigates the tension between human nature and the ever-encroaching influence of technology on his debut techno EP, ‘Synaptic Overload’.
Released through the UAE’s KitchenSync Records, the three-track EP follows a dystopia that begins in an intense digital wilderness, one that is like an overgrown matrix of artificial thoughts, emotions and external forces.
The opening track, an original mix by Sydro, features thunder-like pulses, doomy sonic textures and unrelenting tension that mirror the anxiety-inducing struggle of the human mind under the chaotic overstimulation of technological trends.
The other two tracks of the record are remixes of Sydro’s original: one by Barcelona-based Chilean producer John Plaza, while the other is by Berlin-based producer Balanca. The remixes lean more towards the deep hypnotic side of techno, portraying a constant search for freedom from the torrent of external artificial noises.
