Imane Khelif Set for Professional Boxing Debut on December 15th
Olympic champion Imane Khelif will make her professional boxing debut in Paris on December 15th, facing Dutch boxer Clarida Sarabia after more than two years away from the ring.
Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, who won gold in the women’s 66kg category at the Paris 2024 Olympics, will return to competition on December 15th, 2026, for her professional boxing debut in Paris.
Khelif will face Dutch boxer Clarida Sarabia in a super-middleweight bout at the Maison de la Mutualité. The fight marks her move from amateur boxing, where she competed throughout her Olympic career, into the professional circuit.
“It has been more than two years since my last fight, and I have missed the ring,” Khelif said at a press conference. “I live for boxing, and I am looking forward to returning for myself and my fans.”
She added that the period following the Paris Olympics had been difficult, describing the move into professional boxing as the next step in her career.
Khelif had initially been scheduled to make her professional debut last April, but the bout was postponed after she sustained an injury during training.
