Abu Dhabi Airports & Etihad Launch Hidden Disabilities Programme
This global initiative provides support for passengers with non-visible disabilities, such as autism and chronic pain.
In an effort to enhance travel inclusivity, Abu Dhabi Airports and Etihad Airways have teamed up to launch the ‘Hidden Disabilities Sunflower’ programme at Zayed International Airport (AUH) and onboard Etihad Airways flights.
This globally recognized initiative provides support for passengers with non-visible disabilities, such as autism, chronic pain and anxiety, offering them a discreet way to alert staff members to their needs.
To ensure the programme succeeds, staff members at AUH and Etihad Airways have received specialized training to offer compassionate support. You can find the staff members who have successfully completed their training by the Sunflower pins on their uniforms.
Complimentary Sunflower lanyards are available at AUH’s Special Assistance desks, allowing passengers to signal their need for extra assistance.
