Abu Dhabi's Al-Fahid Island Hosts Its Inaugural Wellness Festival

Away from the hustle and bustle of Abu Dhabi, the Kayan Wellness Festival seeks to create a bubble of calm at its inaugural event, marking a significant milestone in Abu Dhabi’s journey toward becoming a global wellness destination. Taking place on the white sandy shores of Al Fahid Island from April 17th until the 21st, this five-day event features a program that is designed to nourish the mind, body, and soul.

Esteemed wellness experts and speakers from around the world will converge to share insights on various topics, such as adopting a chemical-free lifestyle, enhancing sleep quality, and cultivating gratitude. Beyond engaging talks, attendees will have the opportunity to partake in rejuvenating activities like yoga classes, sound healing sessions, ecstatic dance classes, and more. Additionally, with a dedicated program tailored for children, this festival nurtures spiritual development for the entire family, offering a holistic wellness experience.

The festival is presented by Burjeel Holdings, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and LINKVIVA – and is broken into seven unique wellness “valleys,” or zones, that allow participants to dive into different aspects of spiritual development. Dedicated to environmental wellness as well as personal wellness, the event also features a Wellness Boutique where event-goers can purchase ethically-made, eco-friendly products.

Scheduled to take place on Al Fahid Island from April 17th to April 21st, the event’s early bird ticket sales are now open with single day-passes available starting at AED 444, while five-day passes are priced at AED 1,111. Access to the Alo Valley is exclusively included in the Full Package or can be separately purchased.

Read on to explore the seven Wellness Valleys that make up this inaugural festival.

Alo Valley

Here festival-goers will find live talks and music performances from globally-renowned speakers and artists. With talks from experts such as Sadhguru, Dr. Shefali, Amy Purdi, Mo Gawat, and Gary Brecka, as well as musical performances by musicians such as Nessi Gomes, the Alo Valley is a place for learning and reflecting. This open-air space is dedicated to exploring human resilience and consciousness.

Flow Valley

This festival zone is dedicated to movement and meditation. A roster of internationally known movement experts rotate through classes that stretch the body and soul. Some of the specialists featured in this valley include Manish Pole, Lisa Narvaez, Melissa Ghattas, Lina Nahhas, and Laura Weston. These experts appear alongside sessions from local health and fitness clubs, creating a schedule that includes yoga, deep stretch, breathwork, flow, and dance.

Zen Valley

Blending local traditions and ancient wellness practices, Zen Valley features a mesmerising array of incredible performers. Festival goers will enjoy the music, poetry, and presentations of a huge range of guests, including the soulful Layla Kardan, Emirati holistic expert Khawla bin Thani, Sikh devotional singer Manika Kaur, and Rooftop Rhythms, a UAE-based cultural and arts-based initiative. This valley will also feature a talk by Omar Samra, the first Egyptian to climb Mount Everest.

Inspiration Valley

The intimate sessions waiting at Inspiration Valley are intended to transform. With “campfire” style and breakout talks with influential guest speakers, festival goers are sure to walk out of this valley with a different perspective than they had when they entered. Highlighted guest speakers include health advocate and cancer survivor Ramy Naouss, influential Arab entrepreneur behind INJAZ Egypt Dina El-Mofty, and Jurgis Didžiulis, who explores collective flow and consciousness.

Harmony Valley

Rejuvenate and reconnect with coaching in sound healing, breathwork, singing circles, frequency reading, and biohacking. Women attending the Kayan Festival are free to join the women-only discussions on the Harmony Valley schedule, and all are welcome to join the transformative practices led by festival partners Zarine, Andre Kunkel, and Fleur De Liz to restore balance and promote inner harmony.

Kids Valley

In a way, we are all born into our own wellness journeys. For children ages 6–12, the Kayan Wellness Festival provides guidance on that path, with exciting and engaging wellness activities. The children’s program includes meditation, affirmation-based arts and crafts, yoga, and more, ensuring that both parents and children can enjoy artistic exploration and personal transformation.

Foodies Valley

Feed yourself body and soul with a curated range of healthy, homegrown F&B brands. This festival zone balances ethically-sourced ingredients with sustainable practices that include plant-based plates to organic ingredients.
