French Hotelier Accor Is Bringing a 518-Room ibis Hotel to Makkah

Accor, one of the world's largest hospitality groups behind brands like Fairmont, Sofitel, Raffles and ibis, is expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia with a new 518-room ibis hotel in Makkah.

Scheduled to open in 2031, the hotel will be built in Makkah's Al Maabdah district, around three kilometres from the Grand Mosque. It will feature two restaurants, a lobby lounge, event space and rooms starting at 22 square metres, catering to both pilgrims and residents as the city sees growing demand beyond the traditional Hajj and Umrah seasons.

Developed with Saleh Abdulaziz Al Rajhi & Partners, the project adds to Accor's already sizeable footprint in the Holy City, where it operates 15,000 rooms and has more than 8,000 additional rooms in the pipeline.
