The Five Malaysian Cities You Can Now Visit With Etihad

Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways has added some exciting new routes to five different destinations across Malaysia, thanks to a codeshare agreement with Batik Air Malaysia.

This new partnership will allow Etihad customers to connect from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport to Kuala Lumpur International Airport with twice-daily flights, then continue onward to their chosen Malaysian destinations on a single ticket, combining the services of both carriers.

Not only will passengers be able to have their luggage transferred directly to their final destination, they will also be able to take advantage of new connections to Hanoi and Da Nang in Vietnam, as well as Perth in Australia.

So, without further ado, here are the five new destinations across Malaysia that you can now visit with Etihad.

Johor Bahru

With more theme parks than any other state in the country and plenty of cultural attractions, Johor Bahru is not only the second largest city in Malaysia, it’s also one of the most visited cities in the world.

Langkawi

Surrounded by the glittering azure waters of the Andaman Sea, Langkawi is not only known for its spectacular beaches – including Datai Bay and Pantai Cenang – it also features expansive parks, iconic landmarks, and, most importantly, duty-free shopping.

Penang

From a dense tropical rainforest and a national park with views over the Straits of Malacca to a famous UNESCO city, five-star beach resorts, and some of the world’s best food, Penang has something for adventure, leisure, and cultural travellers alike.

Kota Kinabalu

Once a humble fishing village, Kota Kinabalu on Borneo Island has transformed into a bustling capital city, home to sprawling shopping malls and adventure-filled national parks, including Kinabalu National Park, where you can climb the country’s tallest peak or trek through the jungle.

Tawau

As the third-largest cocoa-producing area in the world, Tawau is a seaport town featuring surrounding jungles, spectacular diving spots, quaint culinary establishments, and convenient travel routes to neighbouring Indonesia.
