You Can Now Swim in the Moonlight at Dubai’s Atlantis, The Royal

With Dubai currently more closely resembling the actual Atlantis than a desert oasis, it might be easy to forget that the metropolis is globally known for its “I could cook an egg on the hood of my car” Burj-Khalifa-high temperatures. And, of course, with the numbers on the thermostat rapidly climbing as summer rolls around, residents of Dubai are becoming increasingly in need of some (or, rather, a lot) of reprieve from the sweltering heat.

This year, instead of simply jumping into a sunny and view-inclusive infinity pool at any of Dubai’s limitless lavish lodgings, consider abandoning your early bird personality and maybe take a good long refreshing dip under the moonlight instead.

Catering to night owls and sun-fearers (AKA those with lighter complexions), Atlantis, The Royal is making your midnight swim fantasies more attainable than ever. Originally exclusively open to guests, the hotel’s Cloud 22 rooftop bar, which has caused a splash on social media since its opening, is now offering new moonlight swim passes that enable visitors to book sunbeds and cabanas from 7PM until 11PM.

Available Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, these moonlight swim passes come in different shapes, sizes and spending-limits. You can get a sun lounger for AED 300, a double day bed for AED 850 per couple, a lotus floating bed for 1,000 per couple and, finally, the infinity floating bed, which comes with a bottle of bubbly or your choice of house beverages, is priced at AED 2,000.

Now, if you’re really in the mood for some late-night spending, you can also opt for one of two cabana options – the Gulf-view cabana, priced at AED 3,500 for six guests, or the duplex pool villa, which fits 10 guests and costs AED 5,000. You’ll be happy to know that both come with a bottle of bubbly, an antipasti platter and picturesque views over Palm Jumeirah.
