Diwan Brings in Young Artists to Reinvent Naguib Mahfouz's Covers
Diwan Publishing House launched the Naguib Mahfouz Project, hoping to reignite a national conversation around the Nobel prize winner by releasing eight Naguib Mahfouz novels with all-new cover art.
Celebrating one of Egypt's most prominent authors, Diwan Publishing House launched the Naguib Mahfouz Project, releasing eight of the Nobel prize winner’s most iconic novels with new covers drawn by contemporary Egyptian artists.
The project hopes to revive an integral part of Egyptian culture, giving everyone the opportunity to expose themselves to the renowned author’s work through a fresh lens. While they say we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, the project hopes these artworks can be used to inspire curiosity, discussion and contemplation of the nation’s most celebrated works.
The Naguib Mahfouz Project is hosting a panel discussion at Consoleya on August 15th at 7 PM, with the project’s artists, art director, and creative director set to talk about the initiative’s goals and creative vision.
