Rami Malek Will Be One of the Hosts of 2022 Oscars
Scheduled to take place at Hollywood’s Dolby Theater on March 27th, Malek will host the Oscars alongside Uma Thurman, Amy Schumer, Zoë Kravitz, Lady Gaga, Chris Rock, and Yuh-Jung Youn.
Award winning Egyptian actor Rami Malek has captivated hearts around the world as Freddy Mercury and Mr Robot, and soon he will captivate the stage as an Oscar host at the 94th Academy Awards alongside Uma Thurman, Amy Schumer, Zoë Kravitz, Lady Gaga, Chris Rock, and Yuh-Jung Youn.
Scheduled to take place at Hollywood’s Dolby Theater on March 27th, the exact format for the award show has not yet been disclosed, although it’s likely that the in-person setting will remain quite limited due to required quarantines and travel restrictions.
Born in 1981 in Los Angeles to a Coptic Egyptian family, Malek made his Hollywood debut as Andy in 'Gilmore Girls' followed by his feature film cinematic debut as Pharaoh Ahkmenrah’ in ‘Night at the Museum’.
In 2018, Malek took on the role of vocalist and beloved rock icon Freddie Mercury, which earned him a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a BAFTA, and the honour of becoming the first actor of Egyptian descent to win an Oscar for Best Actor.
