Amazon Doubles Delivery Capacity in Egypt
Amazon is looking to be a part of Egypt's digital transformation as they bring its workforce up to date on the latest tech skills, and enter partnerships to recruit women and people with disabilities.
Less than a year since Amazon formally launched in Egypt, the global powerhouse is accelerating its investment into the country, doubling their delivery capacity, expanding their customer service network, and creating over 2,000 new jobs. Amazon is looking to be a part of Egypt's digital transformation as they bring its workforce up to date on all the latest tech skills, and enter partnerships to recruit people with disabilities and promote programmes to hire more women.
With the creation of new delivery stations across the country - including in East Cairo, West Cairo, Alexandria and Banha - Amazon's expanded network is expected to help guarantee same-day delivery within Cairo and Giza, and next-day delivery in the rest of Egypt. These stations will also be built with sustainability in mind, incorporating energy efficiency systems that will help Amazon achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, and power its global operations by 100% renewable energy by 2050.
