Aswan Intl Festival of Arts & Culture Launches on February 16th
The arts festival will gather performers from across Egypt and 10 other nations in a celebration of cultural diversity.
The Ministry of Culture is launching the 10th edition of the Aswan International Festival of Arts & Culture this Thursday, February 16th.
The festival is a celebration of the diversity of cultural artistic expression across Egypt and the globe, with 21 local groups (including 11 folklore bands) and a number of performers from Palestine, Greece, Sri Lanka, Poland, Sudan, Indonesia, Mexico, Slovakia, Romania and South Korea participating.
This annual event will end on the same day as the solar alignment at the Abu Simbel Temples on February 22nd, in which the sun shines on the statue of Ramses II deep within the temple to commemorate the mighty pharaoh’s birthday.
