Egypt’s Dr. Karim Youssef Joins Harvard Law School's Advisory Board
Dr. Youssef is the first Arab to ever join the centre’s advisory board.
Egyptian lawyer and founder of Youssef + Partners, Dr. Karim A. Youssef, has been appointed to the Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession's Advisory Board. The appointment recognises Youssef's global reputation as an international arbitration expert as well as his academic background, which includes a LL.M (Master of Laws) and JSD (Doctorate of Laws) degrees from Yale Law School.
“Karim’s unique perspectives founding and leading one of the top firms in Egypt and the Middle East, a region of the world that will be critical to global development in the middle decades of the 21st century,” said David B. Wilkins, the Center’s faculty director.
Dr. Youssef has acted as counsel, expert, or arbitrator in more than 146 international cases and disputes, and is a leading international figure in dispute resolution. He has played a major role in some of the MENA region's major disputes across key industries, including energy, construction, technology, telecommunications, and infrastructure.
“This revered institution has been recognized for its pioneering role in shaping the trajectory of law practice and legal education and for influencing thought leadership and policy-making in the US and globally,” said Dr. Karim A. Youssef. “I look forward to contributing to its invaluable role and to engaging with David and all my colleagues on the Advisory Board.”
