Cairo’s Abdeen Palace: A Glimpse of Egypt’s Royal History

While the Eid holidays incite an urge to escape the city, we’re hopping onto the opportunity to explore Cairo’s countless historical sites. Built by Khedive Ismail in the 19th century, the Abdeen Palace served as Egypt's seat of government from 1874 until the July Revolution in 1952. Now it stands as a glamorous tourist destination that houses 500 rooms with well-preserved artworks and gold-plated clocks, with four museums for you to explore.

The museum complex is open to the public, with entry tickets available for EGP 20.
