France's Gustave Roussy Cancer Centre to Help Open New Clinic in Cairo

The Ministry of Health and Population and France’s Gustave Roussy cancer centre - one of the highest rated oncology centres in the world - have partnered to establish the Egyptian Center for Oncology at Dar El-Salam Hospital.

The new medical centre comes as part of Egypt’s national ‘100 Million Healthy Lives’ initiative, and will feature a diagnostic clinic to identify breast tumours. Results will be delivered within just eight hours, as the result of cutting-edge technology that used to be unavailable in Egypt. Previously, the diagnosis process for breast cancer would take up to 21 days.

The agreement with France includes a plan for the establishment of more health clinics across Egypt’s governorates and a partnership with General Electric, one of the world’s leading players in artificial intelligence and information networks.

General Electric will support Egypt’s national ‘Haya Karima’ initiative to bring Egypt’s countryside up to date through the preparation of information technology infrastructure and the provision of various devices.
