Electricity Price Hike Implemented Across Egypt

Starting from January until June 30th, new prices will be implemented across various consumption segments, affecting both households and commercial establishments, as revealed by the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy. 

For household consumption, the price increase varies across segments. The first segment, covering consumption from 0 to 50 kilowatts, will see a change from 48 piasters to 58 piasters. In the second segment, ranging from 51 to 100 kilowatts, prices will increase from 58 piasters to 68 piasters. Similar adjustments apply to consumer segments in the range of 101 to over 1000 kilowatts.

Commercial establishments will also experience changes in electricity prices. While some segments will see unchanged prices, others will witness increases. For example, in the second segment, covering consumption from 101 to 250 kilowatts, prices will rise from 120 piasters to 136 piasters. In the fifth segment, which includes consumption exceeding 1000 kilowatts, prices will increase from 160 piasters to 180 piasters.
