CIFF Honours Actor Ahmed Ezz With Faten Hamama Award

The 45th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF), set to take place from November 15th to the 24th, will honour Egyptian actor Ahmed Ezz with the Faten Hamama Award for Excellence in recognition of his artistic career.

Ezz made his debut as an actor in 1999, starring in ‘Kallam Al Layl’ by director Inas El Degheidy. The acclaimed actor has since starred in more than 40 films, and became most famous for leading in multiple hit action films. Amongst his most noteworthy films are ‘Malaky Iskendireya’ (2005), ‘Masgoun Transit’ (2008), ‘El Maslaha’ (2012) ‘Welad Rizk’ (2015) and ‘Kira W El Gen’ (2022).

According to CIFF, Ezz is the first Egyptian artist to amass a total of  EGP 385 million in revenues within four years, thanks to his earnings from his latest five films, ‘El Mamar’ (2019), ‘Awlad Rizk 2’ (2019), ‘Al Aref’ (2021), ‘Al Gareema’ (2022) and ‘Kira W El Gen’ (2022).

Established in 2015, the Faten Hamama Award for Excellence was named after esteemed actress Faten Hamama, and has been granted to several prominent figures in the entertainment industry, including Samir Ghanem, Hassan Hosny, Hend Sabry and Mona Zaki.
