Cairo International Art District Returns for Third Edition
The event will be taking place in Downtown Cairo from October 10th to October 30th, 2023.

Art D'Egypte's highly anticipated third edition of the Cairo International Art District (CIAD), will be taking place in Downtown Cairo from October 10th to October 30th, 2023. This vibrant visual arts extravaganza, open daily from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM (except Mondays), merges Egyptian heritage with contemporary art, offering a unique cultural experience.
CIAD, running parallel to Forever Is Now at the Pyramids of Giza, will transform Downtown Cairo into a mesmerising hub of creativity. The entire Cinema Radio complex on Talaat Harb Street, Access Art Space, the Hangar, and the Corridor adjacent to the Radio Complex will serve as exhibition venues, showcasing the diverse artistic expressions of emerging and established artists.
In a demonstration of community engagement, CIAD has collaborated with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to provide a platform for over 20 refugee artists to exhibit their works, offering exposure and amplifying their voices.
The choice of Downtown Cairo as the backdrop for CIAD is no coincidence. Its rich history, marked by renowned 19th-century architects who left their imprint on the city, blends seamlessly with its vibrant contemporary art scene.
“Not only does the area have a history that extends back to the nineteenth century and buildings conceived by the most famous architects of the time, but it has also recently become one of the most important centers of art and creativity in Egypt and a destination for art lovers, collectors, and enthusiasts,” Art D'Egypte founder, Nadine Abdel Ghaffar, tells CairoScene.
CIAD 2023 will immerse visitors in a captivating exploration of artistic evolution. Artists will merge different eras, blend past techniques with contemporary language, and engage in compelling dialogues. The exhibitions aim to stimulate contemplation and invite viewers to reflect on the structural and metaphorical connections within our ever-changing metropolitan city.
