Egyptian Feature Film ‘Dayy’ to Open Red Sea Film Festival
‘Dayy’ follows a teenage albino Nubian boy on a magical journey across Egypt to pursue his dream of becoming a singer.
The Red Sea Film Festival has announced that the Egyptian film ‘Dayy’, directed by Kareem El Shenawy and written by Haitham Dabbour, will open its fourth edition on December 5th.
‘Dayy’ follows a teenage albino Nubian boy on a magical journey from southern to northern Egypt with his fractured family and music teacher, pursuing his dream fueled by his captivating voice.
The film stars Saudi actress Aseel Omran, Sudanese actress Islam Mubarak, and Egyptians Haneen Said and Badr Mohamed. ‘Dayy’ marks Aseel’s debut in Egyptian cinema, where she takes on the role of an Upper Egyptian woman.
