Five Egyptians Selected for Berlinale Talents 2026
Egypt’s selected talents for 2026 include actor Mohamed Hatem and composer Mina Samy.
The cohort for Berlinale Talents 2026, Berlin International Film Festival's esteemed talent development program, has been announced, with five Egyptians selected to join this year’s round. This year’s edition will welcome 200 filmmakers from 120 countries, chosen from 3,438 applicants.
Running from February 13 to 18, Berlinale Talents offers participants a week of workshops, talks and collaborative labs built around the 2026 theme, ‘Creating (and) Confusion — Cinema, Chaos and the Power of Discomfort’ across 15 disciplines in the broad field of cinema. The program is considered one of the world’s most influential incubators for emerging film professionals, connecting participants to a global network of over 10,000 alumni and to the wider industry ecosystem of Berlinale Pro.
Egypt’s selected talents for 2026 are actor Mohamed Hatem, producer/screenwriter Sawsan Yusuf, Film Clinic producer/marketeer Maram El Bedewy, composer Mina Samy and filmmaker Yomna Khattab.
