Liwa International Festival 2025 Dates Announced
From December 13th to January 4th, the festival will feature sports, music and cultural events in the deserts of Al Dhafra.
Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism revealed that the Liwa International Festival 2025 will take place from December 13th, 2024 to January 4th, 2025. The annual event, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, will be hosted in Liwa, amidst the dunes of the Al Dhafra desert.
Organized in partnership with Liwa Sports Club, Al Dhafra Municipality, Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Media Network, and Miral, the third edition of the festival will showcase a mix of sports, cultural activities, and entertainment, with a focus on traditional sports, racing and desert-based challenges.
Key highlights will include the Hill Climbing Championship, camel and horse racing, falconry, archery, and off-road competitions. The festival will also feature a variety of cultural and family-friendly activities, such as live music performances, fireworks displays, a crafts market, and workshops that celebrate Emirati heritage. In addition, visitors will have access to diverse dining options and a range of accommodation, from luxury units to traditional desert tents.
