Oscar Nominated 'Four Daughters' Screened at Cinema Akil till May 2nd
The award-winning hybrid documentary starring Hend Sabry will be showing at Cinema Akil until May 2nd.
Acclaimed Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania’s ‘Four Daughters’ is now screening at Cinema Akil in Dubai. The unorthodox documentary stars Egyptian-Tunisian actress Hend Sabry, who portrays the main character, Olfa Hamrouni. The story deals with familial trauma in the wake of her two daughters, who disappear and seemingly join a terrorist group.
The documentary earned three awards at the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, won the Positive Cinema Award, shared the L’Oeil d’Or (Golden Eye) Award for Best Documentary with the Moroccan film ‘The Mother of All Lies’, and received an honorable mention by the François Chalais Prize. It was also nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the Oscars.
‘Four Daughters’ will be screened at Cinema Akil until May 2nd.
