Oscar Submission ‘Voy! Voy! Voy!’ Will Premiere on Shahid on May 16th

‘Voy! Voy! Voy!’ (2023), the comedy blockbuster and Egypt’s official submission for Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards in 2024, will soon premiere on streaming platform Shahid on May 16th.

The film is based on a true story, and follows an impoverished security guard who desires to travel abroad, and ends up pretending to be visually impaired in order to join a blind football team competing in a World Cup tournament in Europe. Written and directed by Omar Hilal, ‘Voy! Voy! Voy!’ stars Mohamed Farrag, Bayoumi Fouad and Hanan Youssef, with a special appearance by Nelly Karim and a cameo by Passant Shawky.
