'Soura Min Misr' at Aisha Fahmy Paints a Picture of Egyptian History
It contains the work of legendary artists like Abdelhadi El-Gazzar, Gazbia Sirry and Inji Aflatoun.
The newest exhibition at Aisha Fahmy Palace, ‘Soura Min Misr’, is curated to paint a picture of Egyptian history.
It contains the work of legendary artists like Abdelhadi El-Gazzar, Gazbia Sirry, Inji Aflatoun and follows historical events from 1250 through 1973 - except the artwork does not exactly centre the events themselves, but rather the people whose lives they impacted.
Collectively, ‘Soura Min Misr’ traces a portrait of Egyptian people through loss, revolution and triumph.
‘Soura Min Misr’ is yet to add more historical pieces of art to its halls. The exhibition, put together by the Ministry of Culture but viewed early as part of Art Cairo’s VIP Tour, will be open to the public within the next year.
