These Hollywood Movies are the First to Be Shot in AlUla
Thriller ‘Fourth Wall’ and romance ‘Chasing Red’ are going to be filmed in AlUla during 2024.
AlUla is set to host its first major Hollywood productions in 2024 through a partnership between the Royal Commission for AlUla and Los Angeles-based indie studio Stampede Ventures. Kidnap thriller ‘Fourth Wall’ and romance novel adaptation ‘Chasing Red’ will kick off a 10-picture deal aiming to bring USD 350 million in production spending to the region.
Led by former Warner Bros executive Greg Silverman, Stampede Ventures will capitalise on AlUla's spectacular desert landscapes and vast untouched terrain, having identified sites for the two initial films within AlUla.
‘Fourth Wall’ and ‘Chasing Red’ will benefit from the purpose-built film production hub now in AlUla, which includes a 30,000 square foot soundstage. As the first productions to utilise these state-of-the-art facilities, they mark a milestone for positioning AlUla as a globally competitive film destination.
The agreement is also expected to provide skills training and job opportunities for local creatives and film crews, setting the stage for more Hollywood blockbusters filming on location in this remote region of the kingdom.
