This New Museum in Dubai Will Be Entirely Dedicated to Photography
The Dubai Photography Museum, launched by Sheikha Latifa, looks to celebrate global photography talent and preserve visual art.
The Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has officially launched the Dubai Photography Museum, a dedicated space to celebrate the art of photography and preserve its history.
"The Dubai Photography Museum is a remarkable milestone that reinforces the emirate’s position as a global hub for talent and a premier destination for photographers worldwide,” said Sheikha Latifa. "It serves as a platform for exchanging knowledge and expertise with leading cultural institutions, embodying our commitment to innovation and fostering meaningful dialogue through arts and culture.”
The Dubai Photography Museum, a collaboration between Dubai Culture and private sector partners, is designed to be a dynamic space that celebrates global photography talent and provides a platform for photographers to share their work. The museum will also incorporate workshops, talks and events into its mission.
Aligning with Dubai's broader urban and cultural goals, the museum is a key initiative within the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040 and the cultural priorities of Dubai Plan 2030. The project also comes at a time when the global photography market is set to reach an estimated USD 62.4 billion by 2027.
