Egyptian Supply Chain Startup Qara Raises $2.6 Million for Expansion

Egyptian supply chain technology startup Qara secured $2.6 million in funding to expand its operations into Saudi Arabia. The funding will enable the company to enhance its digital platform, which focuses on product authentication, traceability and data-driven supply chain solutions. This move is also supported by the National Technology Development Programme’s (NTDP) Relocate Initiative, which aims to smooth Qara's integration into Saudi Arabia’s growing tech ecosystem.

Since its inception in 2021, the startup has partnered with over 35 manufacturers and suppliers and has authenticated over 28 million products. The platform now connects over 50,000 users across Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Kenya, and is positioned to drive further growth in the Middle East and Africa.

“We are excited to take the next step in our journey with this expansion into Saudi Arabia,” said Hassan Abouzeed, Qara’s co-founder and CEO. “After three years of building a strong product-market fit in Egypt, we believe the challenges we’re addressing meet a significant global demand. The Saudi market, with its focus on innovation and technology, aligns perfectly with our vision for the future.”

Qara’s platform provides a comprehensive digital solution for manufacturers and distributors, offering enhanced product visibility and traceability, which helps businesses improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and eliminate redundancies in the supply chain.
