Fintech Platform Botim Adds In-App Gold Investing for UAE Users
Astra Tech’s Botim app has integrated a new gold investment feature through its partnership with O Gold, offering users Shariah-compliant fractional gold ownership for the first time in the UAE.

Botim, the UAE-based super-app developed by Astra Tech, has introduced an in-app gold investment feature in collaboration with O Gold, the country’s first Emirati platform for fractional ownership of gold and silver. The feature allows users to buy and manage digital gold starting from 0.1 grams directly through the Invest section of the app.
The service also includes access to O Gold’s Gold Earning (Leasing) Programme, which offers an annual return of 3% in gold, benchmarked against global gold leasing rates. O Gold has reported strong early adoption, with more than 100,000 users since launch.
Certified as Shariah-compliant by the Center of Islamic Banking and Economics (CIBE), the platform caters to growing demand for accessible and ethically aligned investment tools in the region.
The integration highlights Botim’s continued expansion beyond its original communications functions into digital finance. It comes as the UAE maintains its role as a major global hub for gold trade, with exports valued at $53.41 billion between 2024 and 2025.
