New Abu Dhabi Business Licensing Authority to Oversee Registration
The new authority will manage the commercial registry, coordinate with relevant entities, and ensure that businesses adhere to important regulations.
The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has launched the Abu Dhabi Registration and Licensing Authority (ADRA) to oversee business registration and licensing processes across the emirate, including its non-financial economic free zones.
This initiative follows a resolution by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council aimed at streamlining licensing procedures and ensuring compliance with regulations. The new authority will manage the commercial registry, coordinate with relevant entities, and ensure that businesses adhere to important regulations, such as anti-money laundering and combating illicit financing activities.
By centralizing and digitalizing licensing and regulatory functions, the authority aims to reduce administrative burdens for businesses, while also improving investment opportunities. It will consolidate data on economic establishments from both mainland businesses and free zones, creating a unified database for better transparency and decision-making.
