Shark Tank Bites Into Startups Without Borders Summit at Special Panel

There’s something in the water at this year’s Startups Without Borders Summit, taking place on Friday, May 10th and Saturday, May 11th, and the sharks are circling. In addition to an already bumper lineup of figures in business and startup investment, the business people behind the Egyptian edition of global hit show Shark Tank are set to feature in a panel discussion exploring the intersection between entertainment and business, and the inspiration it brings to startups across the country.

Moderated by Amy Mowafi, Co-Founder and CEO of regional media company MO4 Network (CairoScene and StartupScene are amongst the 14 publications in its portfolio), the panel discussion will take place on Stage 1 of the summit at Kamelizer Spaces, District 5, beginning at 8:10 PM. Featured on the panel will be Amr Mansi, Founder and CEO of ievents and Co-Founder of Innovative Media Productions (producers of Shark Tank), famed ‘Shark’ Ahmed Tarek, Chairman of Swiss Co and Allianz Middle East, and Ahmed Luxor, Co-Founder and CEO of Innovative Media Productions.

The panel will explore how the show has impacted the local entrepreneurship ecosystem and galvanised a new generation of changemakers while investing over EGP 370 million in stellar startups. The panellists will also be sharing extraordinary behind the scenes stories and exclusively answering some of the most asked questions about the show.
