UAE-Based Logistics Startup Shorages Raises $1M in Pre-Series A Round
The investment follows Shorages’ expansion into Saudi Arabia, adding more locations to its network of fulfilment centres.
UAE-based logistics startup Shorages has raised $1 million in a pre-Series A funding round spearheaded by Joa Capital, following the recent launch of the startup in Saudi Arabia. Shorages operates a network of fulfilment centres across the Emirates, and has now expanded its presence into the Kingdom as it continues to expand across GCC countries.
Shorages’ network caters to both B2B and B2C channels, offering inventory management and complete order fulfilment through its platform. This is achieved through advanced proprietary logistics software, giving merchants real-time access to stock levels, order statuses, and performance metrics, integrating with popular e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Amazon, and Noon.
The recent expansion into Saudi Arabia, as well as new funding, will allow Shorages to facilitate a ‘logistical bridge’ between the two countries, streamlining deliveries across borders. The increased prevalence of tech solutions in the GCC supply chain industry in general has seen the logistics startup market expand to fulfil demand. As national investment in infrastructure and transportation projects continue across the region, the logistics industry represents one of the most appealing emerging markets for regional and global investors.
