300 Trees to Be Planted Near Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah
The Bougainvillea plant was chosen because it suits the region’s climate and environmental conditions.
Madinah’s municipality has launched the ‘Here It Was Planted’ initiative to have volunteers plant over 300 trees in the central area near the Prophet’s Mosque.
Officials from the municipality announced that the Bougainvillea plant was chosen because it suits the region’s climate and environmental conditions. The Bougainvillea will also contribute to the aesthetic appeal of the area.
By involving visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque with the planting process, the municipality hopes to emphasise the importance of environmental protection. The municipality has various other plans to expand green spaces in the holy city, including in parks and other public areas.
