40% of All Consulting Jobs in Saudi Arabia Will Be Localised
This policy has been implemented to increase the number of consulting jobs available to Saudi nationals.
In a move to create productive employment opportunities across Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) has announced the localization of 40% of the Kingdom’s consulting sector.
This is the second phase of an initiative that aims to localise this sector. In phase one, which was implemented in March of 2023, the Saudi government set the goal of ensuring that 35% of the consulting jobs within Saudi Arabia were held by Saudi citizens.
This policy is not happening in isolation. In 2022, HRSD made the decision to increase Saudization efforts across all professions within the advisory industry, including financial, business, and cybersecurity consultants in addition to project management engineers and specialists.
To support this transition, a number of programs have been released to facilitate recruitment and training in the consulting field. This ministry is also collaborating with the Ministry of Finance, the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority, the Government Expenditure and Projects Efficiency Authority, and the Human Resources Development Fund.
