Al Rowaiyah Street Opens Linking Key Dubai Highways

The Roads and Transport Authority has opened Al Rowaiyah Street in Dubai, a new 3.5 kilometre corridor linking Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road with Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street. The link reduces travel time to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road from 10 minutes to four minutes, a 60% cut, and increases traffic capacity on Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street by up to 40%. The corridor serves key residential and educational areas, including Dubai Silicon Oasis, Nadd Hessa, Dubai International Academic City and Warsan 4. According to the Roads and Transport Authority, the project delivers direct entry and exit points to both arterial routes and forms part of broader road network upgrades to accommodate urban expansion and rising traffic demand. As part of the development, the roundabout near the Knowledge and Human Development Authority on Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street has been converted into a signalised intersection to enhance safety and improve flow. The project also includes 2 kilometres of dedicated cycling tracks to support soft mobility. The enhanced corridor is expected to benefit more than 80,000 residents by 2030.
