Assiut’s 100-Year-Old Alexan Palace Will Be Turned Into a Museum

The historic Alexan Pasha Palace located in the governorate of Assiut will soon be turned into a museum as per a decision by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

The Alexan Pasha Palace was built by the Alexan family in 1910 and was registered as an Islamic and Coptic monument in 1996. Built in a grand European architectural style, the palace is adorned with Rococo and Baroque ornaments on its facade along with symbolic emblems representing the early renaissance period of Great Britain.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is currently working to restore and renovate the palace.
