Between Women Filmmakers Caravan Open Calls for Rough Cut Workshop
The workshop is aimed at films in post-production, with the deadline for applications being October 17th.
Between Women Filmmakers Caravan has announced an open call for the 7th edition of their Rough Cut Workshop for Arab women filmmakers, with applications closing on October 17th.
The workshop is aimed at films in post-production, which will be presented to a jury of Arab filmmakers to discuss the possibility of developing them in the editing stage.
This year, the workshop will select a number of full feature length films to participate in the initial cutting workshop, which will be held online. The filmmakers will be able to engage in discussion with the jury members to exchange notes on the film’s montage. At the end of the workshop, one film will be selected for a prize of EUR 4,000 to support its post-production.
The applications are open to Arab women filmmakers who have created films of no less than 30 minutes in length.
The workshop has been ongoing for the past seven years, with numerous participating films in the past having been selected for prestigious international film festivals, such as Ayten Amin’s ‘Souad’ which showed at the 2020 Cannes International Film Festival as well as Lina Soualem’s 2023 film ‘Bye Bye Tiberias’ which screened at the London International Film Festival.
Applications can be submitted online at the program’s website.
