Cairo’s Autostrad Road will be closed for one month due to the construction of a high-speed electric rail.
Starting today, February 19th, the Autostrad Road will be shut down between El Tebeen in Helwan and Maadi. The General Directorate of Traffic in Cairo will execute the necessary services to ease the heavy traffic that is expected to occur.
The high-speed electric railway is expected to link the entire nation once all three lines have been built. The first line will connect 22 stations over 660 kilometres, and is estimated to carry one million passengers daily.
