Creative Industry Summit's Mai Salama Wins Women in Marketing Award

Creative Industry Summit founding partner, Mai Salama, has become the first Middle Eastern and Egyptian woman to win the prestigious Women in Marketing (WiM) award in the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Marketing’ category.

The WiM awards were founded in 2010 to recognise the impact that women have had on millions of people on the social, economic, and political fronts. The awards have honoured outstanding female and male proponents of gender equality from some of the biggest companies, including Google, HP, Unilever, Burberry, SAP, and Live Nation.

Mai Salama and her cousin, Neamat Khalil, run ‘The Worx’, one of the MENA region’s most prolific events consultancy and management agencies with an extensive client roster. They were responsible for bringing the 26th Annual Women Economic Forum to Egypt, and became the official Egypt office of the world-famous Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in 2017. They then co-founded the Nu Digital Awards, the first awards of its kind aimed at celebrating the MENA region’s creative excellence.

This year, the Creative Industry Summit hosted its 14th edition in Egypt, and stepped foot into Saudi Arabia with their first edition in Riyadh.
